Global leading smart home solution provider eWeLink announced that it is among the first to launch the smart energy dashboard from Alexa to contribute to Amazon’s pledge to become carbon-neutral by 2040.

By integrating the ASE technology, smart home devices with power measurement can proactively report the energy consumption of them to Alexa and display the data in Alexa’s energy dashboard.

With the energy dashboard, Alexa not only helps users track, manage, and save energy consumption but also makes their homes more sustainable by automatically shutting down devices left on while unused. eWeLink shares a sense of social responsibility with Amazon and proactively embraces every innovation to make a contribution to climate protection and environmental sustainability.

“We are happy to partner with Amazon in energy dashboard and play our part on the global climate issues. ” Stated eWeLink team. “Moving forward, we will continue our close cooperation with the Alexa team to create more energy-efficient and climate-friendly IoT solutions, promote low carbon smart home technologies to device makers, and help manufacturers develop Climate Pledge Eligible products.”

In September 2019, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced The Climate Pledge, a plan to make Amazon company carbon neutral by 2040. This September, the ASE API was introduced as a part of this plan. On Dec 2nd, 2020, the new feature was officially released with eWeLink Smart Home skill being one of the first to integrate this capability in Alexa.

Scheduling eWeLink Support devices with Google Assistant

发布时间 2020-12-09 09:50:15
分享给朋友:

We are very excited that Google assistant now allows you to schedule eWeLink Support devices by your voice.

Google has just unveiled the ‘Scheduled Google Actions’ feature for Google Assistant. As a Solution Provider of Google Assistant, eWeLink has integrated with this new capability immediately.

This new feature allows you to create a one-time schedule that works once only. For example, when you are cooking, you can ask Google to turn off the cooker in 10 minutes. “Hey Google, turn off the rice cooker in 10 minutes.” Unlike routines which repeat on a regular basis, scheduled actions act upon real-time voice commands.

This new feature is a better choice for some occasional and random schedules. For example, “Turn off my bedside lamp in 30 mins.”

For eWeLink users, daily routines can be set by creating schedules. There is a limit of 8 enabled timers for each device, due to the memory size of the device. If you also often use an Android phone with Google Assistant or own a Google smart speaker, this is an alternative for you. Let Google Assistant sets more schedules for you.

Just say, “Hey Google, turn on my reading lamp at 5 AM tomorrow.”

You can ask Google to create schedules for actions in two ways.

  1. Specify the exact time you need the action to execute.

“Turn on my bedroom light at 6:00 tomorrow.”

  1. Tell Google to set a timer to perform the action.

“Turn off my bedroom light in 40 minutes.”

In case you change your mind and would like to cancel a schedule, you may use the commands like these. Then Google will ask you which one is to be canceled.

  • “Hey Google, cancel my scheduled Actions”
  • “Hey Google, remove my <device>’s’ schedule.”

It is worth mentioning that commands without an exact time (for example, “tomorrow” or “next week”) will prompt an error from Google assistant. Please make sure you give a clear and concrete time for Google to execute your order.

eWeLink announced the incorporation of Alexa FFS technology for eWeLink Support products to improve the user experience of smart home devices.

Shenzhen, Nov  30, 2020, 10:51 a.m. GMT+8

eWeLink announced the incorporation of Alexa FFS(Frustration-Free Setup) technology to improve the user experience of smart home devices to a great extent. The frustration-free setup technology allows users to skip the traditional pairing process. As soon as the user powers on the device and links with eWeLink, they are ready to control their new smart home devices. To control a new FFS device, all that the user needs to do is to power on the device and link with eWeLink.

SONOFF micro is the first eWeLink product that has integrated the FFS technology and obtained the FSS certificate. With FFS technology included, users can plug in the SONOFF micro and wait for it to connect with the existing WiFi network of their Alexa automatically.

eWeLink is committed to improving the user experience of smart devices and has found out one of the turn-offs of smart devices is the pairing process. The integration of FFS reduces the complexities of setting up new products and increases the success rate of the initial setup. Therefore, FFS will be added to more and more eWeLink Support devices. The once steep learning curve for smart home devices will be flattened. FFS technology grants non-tech-savvy consumers access to smart home devices.

Products with the FFS technology will be given the option to ‘Link to my Alexa account and to eWeLink to simplify setup’. When this is selected at the time of purchase, the consumer will be able to enjoy the frustration-free setup experience.

eWeLink has been featured on the official website of Alexa FFS website as an officially recommended solution provider for off-the-shelf products with FFS built-in to decrease time-to-market for business owners.

Better setup experience is not enough. As a top-three solution provider of Alexa Smart Home IoT Solution Provider, eWeLink is always pursuing a higher bar for the all-round performance of eWeLink Support products. eWeLink team has joined the CFH(Certified For Humans) program and is confident that SONOFF micro will soon become a CFH eligible product that is, according to Alexa, “struggle-free, tinker-free, stress-free”.
